Leah Kedar
MCC, ACMC The Kedar Group, LLCBiographical Info
Leah Kedar is an ICF Master Certified Coach (MCC) and an ICF Advanced Certified Mentor Coach (ACMC). She is the recipient of both the 2009 and 2010 International Coaching Federation Prism Award for Coaching Excellence, first with the National Institutes of Health and again with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. In a transient and ever-changing work environment, Leah specializes in supporting senior executives and teams as they are called upon to collaborate and partner in cross-cultural, global, and virtual environments. With a deep grounding in the dynamics of language and action, moods, and emotions—and the overall way that leaders “show up”—she has developed an ability to listen deeply, ask transformational questions, and deliver feedback in a way that motivates people to change and that take leaders and their teams to their next levels of excellence.
Her approach to coaching is results-oriented and integral, honoring the full humanity of each person. She supports clients to explore personal, professional, and organizational goals as they develop and carry out strategies and plans to achieve those goals. Leah’s approach to mentor coaching is also results-oriented, collaborative, and adapted to the needs and aspirations of each coach. The focus is on enhancing self-awareness and observation, expanding coaching skills, and supporting coaches as they develop and grow their coaching practices.
Leah is the founding partner of The Kedar Group (TKG), a leadership excellence consulting firm. For more than 30 years, TKG has provided organization development consulting, executive coaching, facilitation, and team building services to both domestic and international corporate clients as well as public clients in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Leah provides executive coaching, facilitation, and team-building services to dozens of federal government agencies in all sectors including NIH, HHS, HRSA, DOE, DOC, DOJ, USDA, FDA, NASA, and the Intelligence community (CIA, NGA). Both domestic and international corporate clients include NGOs and NFPs, including the United Nations Foundation, in the US, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Leah and her team have designed and implemented 1:1 coaching programs in services for leaders and their teams for the above-listed organizations, including NIH and HHS institutes and agencies.
Leah’s areas of expertise focus on the dimensions of listening, the dynamics of language and actions, moods, and emotions, and the leadership mindset. Leah delivered the TEDx talk, “The Listening Cup” for the 2022 Veterans Administration Health Services annual meeting based on her decades of learning what it is about listening that makes for meaningful, transformational change.
On a personal note, Leah developed a deep curiosity about language and passion for music from an early age. She travels to many parts of the world seeking magic from music and guidance from the diversity that is inherent and language. Leah coaches to the whole person with care and compassion.
Leah holds an M.S. degree in Sociolinguistics from Georgetown University and a BS in Ethnography/Anthropology from the University of Maryland. She has numerous coaching certifications and assessment certifications including MBTI, DiSC, The Learning Circle 360, and EI-Q 360.
